Richard Imamura

Richard is a Financial Consultant with Equitable Advisors and joined Estrada & Associates in 2019.  Richard brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

My career in the financial services industry began in 1996 at The New York Life.  It was there that I learned the business and realized that I really enjoyed working with people and helping them with specific financial needs.  After 5 years with the New York Life, I decided to make a change and join Valic Financial Advisors so that I could focus more on financial planning.  Working for Valic for 13 years I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge in the financial services industry and develop many important business relationships.

After 18 years working in corporate America, I came to the realization that I could better serve my clients by going independent.  In 2014, I became an independent advisor with the help from my friend and mentor Mr. Garrett Morgan. Working as an independent advisor gave me the flexibility to offer more effective solutions for my clients and helped me develop a more client focused practice.

As far as my personal background, I was born and raised in Fresno.  I was educated in Fresno, including attaining a BA in Business Administration at California State University, Fresno.  I hold a 4th degree black belt in the sport of judo and I am currently an assistant instructor at the Fresno Judo Club and an assistant coach for the Fresno State Judo Club.  I also serve as a part time instructor in the kinesiology department at CSUF, Fresno. My hobbies include watching sports, physical fitness, listening to music, watching movies, and karaoke.
